As there is already specialist information on aspects of individual STIs, the purpose of this BMA report is to provide healthcare professionals with an up-to-date summary of the most common STIs today in the UK.
It also presents new BMA recommendations which aim to assist doctors in informing people about health risks associated with unsafe sexual activity as well as calling for improving sex education and services for teenagers.
